About Me

I am a  graduate social work student in my final semester at the University of Texas San Antonio. As my last semester began to approach, I felt that the one missing piece in my social work education was Spanish language skills. I had taken about three years in high school and college before but never advanced my skills and had not expected to begin my career in Central Texas.

Knowing the importance of the Spanish language in social work practice within San Antonio it was very apparent that I should take steps to advance my Spanish skills. The opportunity came to do a Spanish immersion summer study abroad trip with the social work program at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.

Now I will be spending three weeks this summer in a Spanish immersion program in Costa Rica, studying at Academia Centroamericana de Espanol (ACCE).
